individual clients as a part of their experience.
Amey was born with many physical ailments from
congenital deformities to chronic asthma where she spent most of her
childhood in a hospital. As a young adult she struggled to live a better
life. She was first introduced to alternative therapies such as
shiatsu, yoga, nutrition, and herbal medicine while living on the coast
of Oregon where nature is in abundance. Before too long she had
completely rid herself of all asthma medication and learned how to
strengthen her body. This was the seed that started the journey down a
path of healthful awareness. It quickly turned into a career of helping
others along the same path.

Chris Dette, LMT
Chris received her Massage Therapy
License from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in 1994
and has been practicing ever since! She has worked at The Reeboks Sports
Club since 1998. She has also assisted chiropractors and was part of the
original team of practitioners at The Equinox Wellness Center upon its
opening in 1995. Some of her specialties include pre and post
natal massage (which inlcludes nursing mothers), myofascial release,
deep tissue, swedish, and sports massage.
In addition to Manhattan, she has
lived and worked in Alaska where she was introduced to the wonderful
art of water shiatsu, also known as Watsu. The holistic nature
of this massage helped to broaden her perspective in her regular table
sessions. Clients' muscular aches and pains became more than just
a consequence of poor posture or injury, but seen as directly associated
with mental and emotional stress, as well as physical illness.
Chris always considers a client's day-to-day lifestyle in her sessions
and how issues pertaining to work, family, and personal health can manifest
into pain. She has also received acupuncture regularly since 2004
and has become astute in the meridians and their correspondence to muscles
and tendons.
Chris is very excited to be working
at Ariele's Apothecary and hopes to use the breadth of her
experience and the knowledge she's acquired in the field to teach others
how to recognize, evaluate, and treat disharmonies in their bodies.
ACUPRESSURE
$80
per session
Dan Coletta
Dan
Coletta is a certified practitioner of IGM Therapeutic Acupressure. He
has long had a keen interest in energy balancing, particularly after
observing the beneficial effects it had on family and friends. He
became inspired by the ability of IGM Acupressure to balance the mind
and body and began his mission to utilize the method to help people. Dan
has an avid interest in alternative health modalities and is so happy
to be working in an environment with other like-minded individuals. He
resides in Hoboken, NJ where he has established his practice.
The
body has a network of energy chanenels, called meridians, which carry
life-force (chi) energy. Acupressure is based on the theory that
wellness is maintained by regulating the flow of energy through these
meridians. When this flow of energy becomes blocked, pain or discomfort
can manifest in certain parts of the body.
IGM Therapeutic
Acupressure involves applying pressure to 50 points along the meridians
to reopen these channels and restore balance to the body.
REFLEXOLOGY
$90
per 1 hour session
Sonia Petrocelli
Sonia received her
training from the International Institute of Reflexology. Reflexology
is an ancient therapeutic technique based on the principal that reflex areas
in the feet and hands correlate to
every organ in the body. Stimulating these reflex areas relieves
stress and tension, relaxes, normalizes and balances the body therefore
improving circulation, detoxifying the body, reducing fatigue, and
enabling self-healing in all ways. Reflexology is a fantastic way to
relax while helping nature harmonize body functions.
