Ariele Myers, L.Ac Ariele Myers is a licensed Acupuncturist and Board Certified Herbalist. She received a bachelor's degree from Tufts University, where she was first introduced to Oriental Medicine. She received her Masters Degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, one of the oldest and most respected acupuncture schools in the nation. Ariele practices various forms of yoga and incorporates her understanding of breath and movement into her acupuncture and wellness programs. She has also studied Upledger Cranio-Sacral therapy, nutrition and Zheng Gu Tui Na and utilizes these modalities to help guide you to a deeper understanding of your body, mind and spirit. Ariele has two sons, Leo and Jonah, who are constant reminders about the nature of balance and joyfulness. Since starting her own family, Ariele has been committed to helping other parents make healthy choices for their own families. Ariele encourages you to actively participate in your healing process, empowering you to achieve and maintain physical, mental and spiritual health.
Margarita Alcantara, L.Ac
Margarita is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Reiki practitioner. Margarita graduated with a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. When Margarita is not working as part of the wellness team at Ariele's Apothecary, she works out of her private practice in New York City. She provides her services at monthly Wellness Days for The Audre Lorde Project's 3rd Space Support Program's Health and Wellness Collective, a group of professional healers who provide health care for people who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two-Spirit, Trans, Gender Non Conforming people of color, HIV+, low income (im)migrant and/or people living with a disability. She has also worked at St. Ann's Corner of Harm Reduction (SACHR), where she performed auricular/ ear (NADA) and full-body acupuncture on populations recovering from addiction.
Margarita believes that establishing a great connection and understanding with the patient is tantamount, since physical healing is closely related to that of the spirit. Having been a writer/ editor of Bamboo Girl Zine, her own self-published magazine exploring identity, race and gender, a current speaker at college campuses on issues of identity and empowerment, classically trained in opera, ballet and Filipino Weapon Fighting, and with a background as a community organizer, Margarita is aware of the unique needs of people who seek to express and empower themselves. Because of this, Margarita offers not only her knowledge and experience of Chinese Medicine and reiki, but a compassion towards others who are working to better their lives, as well as a concrete approach to wellness that encompasses the whole self.
Kathleen Marsh, L.Ac
Kathleen Marsh, M.S., L.Ac., holds a Masters of Science degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and has over four years of extensive training in both Traditional Oriental Medicine and the western biosciences. She is nationally board certified and licensed in both New York and New Jersey, and her clinical background includes treatment of patients at The Hospital for Joint Diseases Initiative for Women with Disabilities, St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center, Montefiore Medical Center, and the Jacob Perlow Hospice at Beth Israel Medical Center, all located in New York City. Kathleen sees a broad range of patients and conditions and continues to develop her interest in women's health issues, particularly those that are fertility and pregnancy related. She works closely with MDs, midwives, doulas, and other health care professionals affiliated with preeminent institutions like the Birthing Center at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital.Through her work and strong personal belief in both Eastern and Western practices/approaches, she treats and advises patients so that they may help themselves achieve a healthy balance and sense of well-being in their lives. She cooperates with reputable medical specialists and other health care professionals who, like her, believe that a combination of treatment modalities is most effective and beneficial for optimal health. Outside of acupuncture, Kathleen is a translator, multilingual communications specialist, and dedicated world traveler who last year returned to New York City after living and practicing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Previously, she had maintained a private practice in Antigua, Guatemala, and has also volunteered as an acupuncturist in Nicaragua, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
